Program Overview
Achieving optimum quality care for patients requires updates on
recently developed
techniques, technology, and methods of treatment. And keeping abreast
with constantly evolving changes in health care delivery systems. For
example,
the use of a scientific, yet simplified approach, as compared to the
complexities
involved in the study and practice of classical acupuncture.
MARIA (Medical Acupuncture Research Institute of America) in
collaboration
with the Philippine Medical Association of Southern California, have
combined
their resources to deliver this knowledge to medical providers,
especially those
in primary care, so they can use it in the management of patients
suffering from
chronic pain disorders, and many other conditions unresponsive to
conventional
therapy. The faculty is a leading authority on modern scientific
acupuncture.

When You're Ready for Scientific Acupuncture in Your Practice
Come Learn With Us.
In the last 33 years, MARIA (Medical Acupuncture Research
Institute of America) has offered Continuing Medical Education
Programs that stay focused on the scientific study and practice of
acupuncture.
A fundamental question that constantly guides us is: What is the
best way to harness the body's built-in mechanisms against pain
and disease with acupuncture therapy?
In more than three decades of rigorous study, we have uncovered
the secret of the subtle yet profound healing properties of
acupuncture from a scientific perspective. The "Quantum Theory of
Acupuncture" explains this. Still, there's so much to learn, for
example, about activating the body's immune system to control
life-threatening diseases.
MARIA was founded by Dr. Lupo T. Carlota in 1974. As an
institution of higher learning, it has attained a track record of
experience and expertise in designing acupuncture courses for
western-trained physicians.
Since its inception, the institute has held education and training
programs in different cities across the U.S. and
overseas-including the ones conducted in Beijing, Nanjing and
Shanghai in 1983. All of these courses were presented in a
simplified, easy-to-understand and practical way, making it
possible for physicians to learn acupuncture-in minimum time.
Integrating MRA Therapy into your medical practice can become one
of the most important steps you will ever take in your career.
